Adventure Region South Tyrol

The sports holidays are slowly coming to an end. Only a few days remain to travel again. Of course we didn’t let this chance go by and packed our suitcases and mounted the ski rack on the car. South Tyrol we are coming!

The Journey

Starting from Lucerne the journey led us through the principality of Liechtenstein to Austria. From Innsbruck everything went south towards South Tyrol. The journey of a little more than 5 hours can easily be done in one piece. 4 countries later we reached our destination. The Nature Hotel Pfösl in Nova Ponente.

The Hotel

In a quiet location in harmony with nature lies the remarkable hotel complex of the Hotel Pfösl. A place where natural materials meet modern design. Not only in the rooms open to the public, but also in the spacious hotel rooms you will find plenty of wood. The bedrooms themselves offer enough space to spread out, in addition to the stylish furnishings.

Those who do a lot during the day will come back to the hotel hungry and in need of recovery. Whether in the nature spa or the infinity pool, relaxation is guaranteed. After a strenuous day, it’s good to hang out at the edge of the pool and simply enjoy the view of nature.

For the very hungry or for those who can’t wait until dinner, the afternoon buffet with cold snacks, a hot meal and sweet treats awaits you.

However, the culinary highlight still takes place at dinner. Every day the hotel kitchen surprises its guests with a new 5-course meal. The individual courses can also be exchanged for vegetarian or vital alternatives on request. On Thursday evening, the kitchen opened its doors for us and we could take a look behind the scenes.

Fun in the Snow

The area itself is not only known for its numerous wellness hotels. Also a variety of ski areas stretch through the Alpine landscape of South Tyrol. Winter sports enthusiasts of all kinds are guaranteed to enjoy themselves here.

Only 15 minutes drive from our hotel you find the ski area Obereggen in the middle of the Dolomites. With perfect sunshine and ideal snow conditions, we enjoyed ourselves on the first day on the sledging run and whizzed down the slope with rented wooden sledges.

Since one never finishes learning, the next day we explored the vastness of the ski area with a private ski instructor, who took us to lunch at one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Dolomites. Rarely have I had such a great view during lunch as in the restaurant Oberholz.

South Tyrol

After only three nights we unfortunately had to start our journey home again. When I look back I can say: “I have seen a lot, but not everything”. It was our first trip to South Tyrol, but certainly not the last, because even in summer it is said to be incredibly beautiful here. Will there be hiking holidays in South Tyrol this summer?
