Aktive Erholung im Posthotel Achenkirch
Never before I came back from vacation so relaxed after so much action. So it is proved, the Posthotel Achenkirch keeps its promise. In my 4-day break, I was able to customize my program perfectly and find my inner peace. Numerous factors of the 5-star resort Posthotel Achenkirch, which functions like a clockwork, contributed to this. But one thing after another.

The Junior Suite
A central point where one repeatedly comes back is the hotel room. Whether to change, sleep or just to enjoy ones privacy. Our more than generous Junior Suite convinced here with ample space, a balcony with a wonderful view of the Tyrolean mountain landscape and a magnificent bathroom. Although I always enjoyed coming back to our room, the main activities take place outside.

The Activities at the Posthotel Resort
Nobody gets bored here. The variety of offers of the Posthotel would be enough to keep me busy for two weeks. Those who are rather sports-loving people, as I am, can try everything in the 5-stars hotel. Fancy a game of tennis? Here, it is up to you whether indoor or outdoor. Or would you prefer a game of squash? That’s too fast? How about table tennis? Those who are more of a single-player can let off steam at the indoor or outdoor gym.

Everything is possible, along with other offers like hiking, (e-)mountain biking, Tesla driving, horse riding. Furthermore, the surroundings of Achensee offer numerous additional activities like windsurfing in summer or skiing in winter.

The Resort – An Overview
On 4 hectares of resort area you can fit a lot of things on it. Here, the Posthotel Achenkirch can stand out in many points from a usual wellness hotel. Starting with the house’s own golf course. The Posthotel Alpengolf Club is spread over 9 holes, with a breathtaking view of the resort and the surrounding area.

The hotel complex also has its own alpine pasture. The Zöhreralm supplies high-quality, local products for the hotel kitchen and is also an attractive hiking destination. The resort also has its own Lipizzaner stud farm. We were lucky to be able to take one of these beautiful animals out for a walk.

As a wellness hotel, however, an extensive spa area should not be missing.
The Spa
The spa area at the Posthotel Achenkirch is more than generous and covers an area of over 7000m ². This includes 10 pools and 10 saunas. Each pool and sauna has its own character and is lovingly decorated. A place where I felt especially comfortable was the “Versunkene Tempel”. The gently designed, underground infrastructure invites you to relax.

The selection of spa treatments available at the Posthotel is as diverse as the spa world. In order to release my stress completely, I decided to go for the “Posthotel Kraftritual”, which was developed especially for this purpose. After 50 minutes of pure relaxation, I left the treatment room with new vitality.

The Gourmet Kitchen
Before and after a day full of new impressions and experiences, the culinary delights should not be forgotten. This is ensured by the hotel kitchen, which has received several awards. Whether for breakfast or dinner, I was surprised every day anew with tasty treats made from local and sustainable products.

Friends of TCM are also at the right address in the Posthotel Achenkirch. The restaurant TENZO complements all meals with recipes from TCM.

Meet the Host
Keeping a resort as large as the Posthotel Achenkirch running requires all employees to work together. I had the pleasure to have an interesting conversation with Karl Christian Reiter, the manager of the family-owned business. In addition to the guests, the 170 employees are also very important to Mr Reiter. As a guest, I felt this especially. The politeness and courtesy of the staff left nothing to be desired. That I am not alone in this opinion is shown by the situation that after a 3-month shutdown, caused by COVID-19, we were able to stay in a hotel that was fully booked down to the last room.
