Spa Weekend at Saint Malo – Grand Hôtel des Thermes
It does not always have to be the south to get to the sea. So last weekend we went to Normandy. More precisely, to Saint Malo.
Hidden there is a true wellness oasis: the Grand Hôtel des Thermes. The perfect place for a short vacation by the sea.
The Grand Hôtel des Thermes
The Grand Hôtel des Thermes is spread over two complexes. A historical part and a new building. The 5-star hotel offers 174 rooms, a fitness center, an Aquatonic pool and a Thalassotherapy center. Also to be found in the hotel are three in-house restaurants and a bar.
The Rooms
Many rooms in the Grand Hôtel des Thermes have a direct sea view. We were also able to enjoy the wonderful view.
The interior of the rooms is timeless and modern and invites you to stay.
The Spa Area
But probably the biggest highlight of the Grand Hôtel des Thermes is the spa area. The Thalasso Center offers numerous spa treatments that promote health and vitality. For this purpose, the Grand Hôtel relies on traditional types of treatments based on cold or heated seawater in combination with algae, mud and sand.
If you are undecided about which treatment you would like to have, the friendly staff will be happy to help you.
The best way to finish off the treatments is in the Private Spa afterwards.
The Restaurants
The two main restaurants, Le Cap Horn and La Verrière, cater to the guests’ well-being. The chefs Patrice Dugué and Pascal Pochon and the team will cook for you.
In the restaurant Le Cap Horn you can enjoy the traditional cuisine with a breathtaking view of the sea. Breakfast is also served at Le Cap Horn.
The restaurant La Verrière focuses on interior design and is really very well furnished. In addition to traditional dishes, diet menus are also served here.
Good to Know
For the journey we recommend a flight to Rennes. From there, the Grand Hôtel des Thermes can be easily reached by train or cab.
Also worth a visit is the old town of Saint Malo, which can be reached on foot in just 15 minutes from the hotel.
